Determining Your Dress Size

Measuring is one of the most important aspects of the ordering process.  We highly recommend that you come into our store to be measured, however, sometimes that may not be possible.  If someone else has to measure you, we encourage going to a tailor, seamstress, or bridal shop.  If you decide to measure yourself, please use a soft measuring tape and make sure to keep the tape snug when measuring.  It is best to measure over your undergarments for the most accurate fit.

Bust-  Circle the tape measure around your back and across the fullest part of your chest but not across the front of your bustline.

Waist-  Circle the tape measure around the narrowest part of your torso or natural waist. (Approximately 2” above your belly button)

Hips- Circle the tape measure around the largest part of your bottom. (Approximately 8” to 9” from your waist.)

Hollow to Hem-  Place the tape measure at the base of your neck or hollow and measure to the floor without shoes on.

With these accurate measurements, we will consult with you about the size we feel will give you the best fit.  Its important to remember that your gown is not custom made.  Each designer has their own size chart and typically your dress size may be 1 to 2 sizes larger than your normal street size.  Despite taking accurate measurements, your gown may need alterations.
